The business was founded by advertising photographer Phil James, who, while working as a photographer, wore vintage workwear-style clothing that would withstand the physical demands of his job. He wanted to remain stylish but struggled to source clothing from a single store. The search for quality workwear, which would serve Phil’s practical needs, led to the launch of the brand in 2016. The shop also offers customers the chance to buy repaired stock and items from previous seasons, enhancing the brand’s sustainability efforts.
