Fed up with locks that failed to prevent several of his bicycles from being stolen, Professor Neil Barron founded LITELOK. Neil, who is an engineer, industrial designer and entrepreneur, and previously worked in aerospace engineering, created a patented composite called Barronium, designed to withstand angle grinder attacks while allowing his locks to remain portable. The company began in 2013 and launched the brand via crowdfunding in 2015, gaining early support on Kickstarter. Since then, it has grown into a security brand, manufacturing products in their solar powered factory in Swansea and exporting internationally. Today LITELOK sells a range of bike and motorcycle locks through their direct-to-consumer website.
