After facing alcohol-induced liver damage, Mark Wong sought a healthier alternative that didn’t compromise on the taste or experience of traditional beer. This search led to the launch of Impossibrew in 2021 as an alcohol-free beer brand. Collaborating with scientists from Durham University, Impossibrew developed its proprietary Social Blend – a mix of nootropic herbs designed to mimic the calming effects of alcohol. They have now sold over 1m cans and earlier this year, Impossibrew raised £1.6m through a Crowdcube campaign, exceeding its target by over 300%.
