Unplugged

Founded in 2020 by friends Hector Hughes and Ben Elliot, the idea came after both founders experienced burnout while working long hours at a tech start-up in London. Hector went on a silent retreat in the Himalayas, returning convinced that people needed easier ways to switch off without travelling across the world. Together, they launched Unplugged to bring that experience closer to home. The business specialises in off-grid cabins placed within one to two hours of major UK cities, designed for short tech-free escapes. With no Wi-Fi and phone lockboxes, the cabins encourage guests to disconnect and recharge in nature. Unplugged has grown from one cabin to more than 50.
